Claiming to raise the bar in terms of tracking precision, Razer today announced a new, proprietary technology (4G Dual Sensor) which combines an optical and a laser sensor so as to offer the highest-grade tracking performance on a wide range of surfaces.
The 4G dual sensor solution offers a 6400dpi resolution and includes extras like surface calibration and lift-off distance customization that should provide gamers with an even larger advantage over the competition.
"I'm really excited by the leaps and bounds we've come in developing the world's most precise and advanced sensor technology. We worked closely with many pro-gamers to fine-tune the sensor under intense gaming conditions, ensuring it achieved a level of tracking accuracy that met their high-level demands," said Robert "RazerGuy" Krakoff, President, Razer USA. "The mouse is core to any gaming setup. It's where our roots are, when we pioneered competitive gaming and developed the world's first gaming mouse. Today, it is still one of the key areas for our R&D and it's quite exciting to bring such a significant sensor evolution to gamers worldwide."
To put the 4G Dual Sensor System to good use, Razer is going to release not one but two gaming mouse that feature it. First up, there's the all-new Mamba which measures 128 x 70 x 42.5 mm, has wired /wireless functionality, multi-color lighting, a 1ms response time, and a battery life of up to 16 hours.
Secondly, we have the dual sensor-packing Imperator which is 123 by 71 by 42 mm, and has a right-handed design, adjustable side buttons, a rubberized thumb grip, seven programmable Hyperesponse buttons, on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment capabilities, and on-board memory for various settings.
The updated Mamba and Imperator mice will become available through Razerzone.com this month and cost $129.99 / €129.99 and $79.99 / €79.99, respectively.
