KingstonFollowing on Seagate's footsteps, Kingston Digital has come out with its very own wireless portable solution aimed for use with Apple's iPad (or iPhone or iPod touch). Named Wi-Drive, the product in question has 802.11g/n WiFi connectivity and a battery life of up to 4 hours.

"Wi-Drive is an ideal solution for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users who feel confined by their current storage capacity," said Andrew Ewing, Flash memory business manager, Kingston. "Wi-Drive allows Apple device owners to wirelessly manage document and media files, and choose to share them with others, while on the go for work or pleasure."

GeForce GTX 560MThe GTX acronym is reserved for Nvidia's finest GPUs that are designed for all-around gaming, but it's been a while since the company launched one for laptops. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M debuts today with some notable improvements, including support for a graphics-switching technology called Optimus and improved frame rates at 1080p resolutions.

This marks the first time Nvidia is introducing its Optimus technology into a mobile GTX card. Optimus enables the switch to Intel's processor graphics when the gaming laptop is used for everything else besides hardcore gaming and 3D-intensive tasks.

Alienware Laptop

The announcement wasn't scheduled for a few more days -- four according to the teaser site -- but it looks like Alienware's All Powerful gaming laptop has been set free anyway. So, does it live up to the clues? Pretty much... how does a pair of 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M GPUs strike you? No Core i7 listed, instead we're looking at a Core 2 Extreme quad-core CPU at the top end with up to 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory, and 1TB of 7200-rpm disk or a 512GB SSD if you prefer. RAID 1 or RAID 0? Sure. Rounding things out is a nine-cell battery of unstated performance, FireWire, 4x USB, eSATA, ExpressCard, 802.11n WiFi, 8-in-1 media card reader, dual-layer Blu-ray, a 1920 x 1200 pixel edge-to-edge LCD, DisplayPort and HDMI-outs all wrapped up in a massive chassis weighing 11.68-pounds with a 15.98 x 12.65 x 2.11-inch footprint. Prices start at $1,799 for a lot less than we mentioned above.

Sony CybershotSony just announced a pair of Cyber-shot cameras in Europe. Both offer Sony's smile shutter technology, 3x zoom stabilized with SteadyShot, 2.7-inch LCD, a claimed ISO 3200 sensitivity, and 7 automatic scene selection modes. The W180, though, has a 10.1 megapixel sensor to the 12.1 megapixels of the W190 (pictured). Oddly, Sony's pushing the 17x/18x digital zoom capabilities on these -- something we haven't seen hyped for a few years:

Pristine picture quality is further enhanced by the high-quality 3x optical zoom lens. Smart zoom boosts maximum magnification to a frame-filling 18x for W190 and 17x for W180 for even more dramatic close-ups.

Brightside lightTask lighting is always nice when what you’re working on isn’t well lit, sometimes it can become difficult to concentrate.  There have been several lights that are powered by your USB ports and this is just one more to add to the list.  I do find it a little odd how tiny it is.  With other types it seemed like it could easily illuminate something besides your keyboard keys, but with this it seems like it wouldn’t be that bright.  However, if you like to plan for anything when you’re traveling, this could easily be stashed within your laptop bag.

Hopefully it’s brighter than it looks, from the picture it seems to be only as bright as one of those weak key chain lights.
