Sony is preparing to add its PlayStation 3 to the ranks of video game platforms that can be controlled with motion, with Sony poised to release a motion-controlled controller for its game console.
Speaking at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony unveiled plans to manufacture and release a control for its PlayStation 3 console that will allow gamers to control games with motion. The decision by the electronics manufacturer to develop a motion-sensitive remote for its console is likely in reaction to the popularity that Nintendo's Wii has seen since its inception.
"The newly announced Motion Controller is equipped with two motion sensors, three axes gyroscope and three axes accelerometer that can detect the controller's angle and movement held in the user's hand," Sony said in a statement.

Sanyo will be bringing in a total of nine new surveillance cameras Stateside, and what makes them special is the fact that they are able to record proceedings in High Definition format – which is a logical step in the right direction, considering the rising crime rate these days and the use of video surveillance to help solve those cases by identifying faces, words as well as providing detail not seen with the human eye long after the event has happened. These nine new HD surveillance cameras are able to offer up to 4MP MJPEG and Full High Definition video for critical security monitoring, making them the first of such a lineup in the world with multi-streaming H.264 and MJPEG codecs. They will come in a quartet of form factors including Box, Dome, Zoom and PTZ.
Inside these cameras, you will find twin engine incorporating new “Xacti HD-Pro” and “Optimum IP-Pro” technologies that provide for more power and a smoother operating environment. All models will also boast advanced H.264 video compression for Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) video recording or a whopping 2,288 x 1,712 MJPEG resolution.

MSI's longevous Wind U110 ECO available now for $400
We'll be frank -- discovering that MSI's Wind U110 ECO didn't boast an ATI GPU as we'd originally heard really put a damper on things, but still, a 9-cell battery that promises up to 15 hours of life on a single charge is hard to ignore. Granted, we have all ideas that real-world figures will pull up well short of that, but it should still outlast the vast majority of rivals currently on the market. If you've forgotten the specs, here's a rundown: 1.6GHz Atom Z530 CPU, Windows XP Home, GMA500 graphics, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi, a 1.3 megapixel camera, gigabit Ethernet, a trio of USB 2.0 ports and a 4-in-1 card reader.

If you thought that it was bad when the Wii first came out, just think how TVs will do with this Wii accessory around. It’s like they’re just begging you to chuck something through your TV. I’ll bet this was secretly created by a company that makes televisions, it could happen. Well this accessory not only will tempt you to break your TV, but might make your favorite football games just a little more fun for you.
The controller will be fully compatible with Madden 10, Madden 09 All-Play, NCAA Football 09 All-Play, Backyard Football and Family Fun Football are a few of the games.

WiFi radio gains touchscreen, streaming and Facebook
DAB and WiFi radio extraordinaire -- has just made live a product portal for its forthcoming Sensia, which looks to be a serious leap forward in terms of features and design. For starters, this product ditches the typical retro vibe and goes for something entirely more Jetsons-esque, and while many of Pure's past radios have had some sort of display, the 5.7-inch touchscreen (640 x 480) is certainly a first. Boasting DAB and FM tuners, this device is also equipped with an 802.11g module that lets it pull down radio streams from the web as well as stream other media from networked PCs / storage.

Griffin's volume-limiting MyPhones can't crank to 11... or 8
Griffin Technology's MyPhones are far from being the first cans on the market with volume limiting tech built-in, but unlike some parent-friendly options, these can never, ever be cranked to levels appropriate for ear bashing. You see, rather than giving adults (you know, those Earthlings that are already hard of hearing) the chance to set the limit too high for their offspring, Griffin has implemented an "always-on sound-control circuit to cap peak volume levels at 85 decibels." That's the maximum level recommended by many auditory health organizations, and if you don't like it, tough noogies.

Sony has a new Walkman S-series device in the chute as demonstrated by this S740 model seen hanging out at the Sony Dealer Convention in Japan. Hard data is scarce but visually we can see a slightly tweaked industrial design with beefier earbuds and a lack of stereo speakers -- at least on the front. We can’t reveal too many details, aside from the fact that it will be available in 8gb and 16gb capacities. Judging from the picture, we can also assume that it will also have a two inch LCD screen, FM radio, noise cancellation, and possibly most of the clear audio technologies found in the X-Series Walkman..

For being such a simple looking speaker, it still manages to somehow look great. There is really nothing out of the ordinary with its looks except that it doesn’t look like just another cheap plastic speaker. It actually looks like it’s created out of decent quality materials.
No, it’s not in some goofy shape to show your love of Star Wars or something along those lines. Then again, perhaps that’s a good thing.

Wi-Fire long-range WiFi adapter hands-on and impressions
It's an age-old problem. What do you do when you're just barely out of range of a nearby WiFi signal, and moving closer really isn't a convenient option? hField Technologies has been solving said quandary for years with its continually revamped Wi-Fire, and we were fortunate enough to grab hold of the newest, third-generation version in order to put said company's claims to the test. Quite frankly, we were more than skeptical about this so-called range extender; let's face it, this thing has all the markings of an 'As Seen On TV' trinket that does little more than fantasize about delivering on its promises. Thankfully for all of the parties involved, we're happy to say that our doubts were hastily shelved.

There’s this old saying - repeat something often enough, and people will start to believe it to be the truth. Well, guess the folks at Sony must’ve heard the prayers and rants of many Sony fanboys over the years on how the PS3 console was way too bulky, and having repeated a rumor countless times of a PS3 Slim coming our way many months ago, guess the age old adage kicked into action with Sony officially unveiling the new PS3 today, where it comes in an extremely svelte form factor. Heck, if it had been a contestant on the reality show “The Biggest Loser”, chances are pretty good the PS3 Slim would walk away as the clear winner with a couple of beauties in tow (fondling its controllers, of course). Let’s take a look at the PS3 Slim in greater detail right after the jump.

Microsoft’s LifeCam HD lets you video chat at 1280×720
So, the LifeCam HD is like a regular webcam, except it has a real glass lens, a mic that actually sticks up and isn’t just a pinprick on the camera’s surface, and of course, it’s capable of HD. Whether your messaging or video chat application is ready for that is a toss-up, but I guarantee in a few months it will be.
It’ll sell for $80, or £70.

PSP Go Leaked: Slider With 16GB of Flash Storage and Bluetooth
Live images have leaked of Sony's PSP Go, set to launch at next week's E3. Looks like those rumors were true: It's a UMD-less slider with 16GB of memory, and it'll ship this fall. No price yet, but that should come with the official announcement next week.
All this leakage stems from the June issue of Qore, which is a bit of a slip-up on Sony's part. The Go looks to keep the single analog joystick, though the overall design is quite a bit more playful and, well, circular than previous iterations of the PSP. Notice we didn't say "attractive": the circle section that houses the start and select buttons especially has kind of a late-90s feel to it, but we'll have to see how it looks in the hand.
