Internet Explorer 10As promised, Microsoft issued a number of security updates Tuesday for many of its software products as part of its regular monthly Patch Tuesday event. That included two critical fixes for various versions of Internet Explorer, including IE10 running on Windows 8.

Microsoft said in its full patch notes that the fixes on Tuesday closed Internet Explorer exploits that "could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer." Microsoft also added that the fixes were "privately reported".

High Tech Iphone Retro PhotoIs there anyone out there (thats old enough) that didn’t own a Polaroid camera? I remember when one of those little fold up leatherette SX-70 cameras was about as high tech as you could get. Listening to the little motor grind as the picture fed out of the hopper, warming the picture against your chest or waving it in mid-air in the hopes of hastening the developing process. The camera is a dinosaur, and its demise marked the end of an era.

iPhone 5Apple has finally confirmed the next iPhone. Today during a media presentation in San Francisco the technology giant officially announced the iPhone 5. The new smartphone will be taller, lighter, and thinner than the most recent model, the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 5 is 18 percent thinner than the iPhone 4S, and weighs 112 grams. According to Apple senior vice president of worldwide marketing Philip Schiller, this makes the iPhone 5 the world's thinnest smartphone. The device features a 4-inch retina display with 326 pixels per inch, with additional vertical pixels allowing for a fifth row of icons to fit on the home screen.
